In the cold winter of 1922, our founder journeyed across the Atlantic from Sweden to America. Without a winter coat, he had little or no money and a one way train ticket to Minneapolis. Following generations of family history, he found employment making and repairing shoes. Soon after, he met and wed his wife, and in 1931 they established Nokomis Shoe Shop. He ran the store until he passed away in 1980.
